An original concept film made as a reaction against sterile digital design, in a world where everything is gray, sharp-angled, soulless, justified as function, drained of feeling.
Designed, modeled, lit, animated and directed solo. Roughly a year elapsed, a few weeks of actual work, built in gaps around a full-time job.
The intro is a digital construct that resolves into something real, and the palette inverts as it does. Same car, both times.
It started on paper. That decision runs through everything after it.
Smudges and scratches. Dust and dirt on the ground and the body. Debris and smoke through the drift. Film grain, halation, real lens presets, real bokeh, long focal lengths. A human figure in frame to ground it in something recognizably real.
None of it is individually visible. Together it is the difference between a render and a thing.
The digital car gives way. Same geometry, real light, real dirt, real environment. What was constructed becomes something that exists.
The edit is slow on purpose so the change registers as a shift rather than a cut.
